Personalized service putting the customer first is a cornerstone of how Hawtin Plumbing Services and Canada Radon Inc. operate.
Co-owned by Mitch and Kelli Hawtin, the company specializes in a wide array of services and despite operating since just 2016, has built a brand synonymous with a commitment to excellence and expertise.
They are knowledgeable in and able to perform residential plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and gas fitting. They also provide timely service repairs, including emergency fixes, retrofits and renovations. The team can also assist in commercial plumbing, mostly service and repairs, and will acquire Commercial Gas Certification in fall of 2018 to expand their ever-growing service base.
Mitch prides himself on keeping his clients informed throughout the project's timeline in the most convenient outlet for clients — text, call or email — and does not shy away from this practice even when the news may not be welcomed— be it the need for a rebooking or a delay if he is waiting for parts.
“If we say we will be there, we will be there,”Hawtin said. “We love the Battlefords. We are active in the community. We have a young family and plan to be providing excellent service to people in the area for a long time to come.”
A large swatch of Hawtin Plumbing Services projects come about via referrals, reinforcing the company’s commitment to client satisfaction. It can also be seen through it’s accolades, receiving the 2018 Battlefords Business Excellence Award for best Micro Business, and taking home the Battlefords Best of the Best award for 2018 in its category, the second year the firm has been honoured with the title.
The company is humble in it’s approach to business, building and growing gradually. They currently operate out of their home shop but are eager to grow into another location down the road. The company started with just Mitch, and each year since has brought on a new employee.
Not only a Journeyman Plumber and Gasfitter, Mitch is one of the few across the province certified as a Radon Measurement and Mitigation Professional, running these services through Canada Radon Inc.
Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the natural break down of uranium. All homes have some level of radon, but the question is how much. As a tasteless, odourless, colourless gas, it can be a silent killer and is the second leading cause of lung cancer. The gas typically moves up through the ground and can come into a home through cracks and other holes in the foundation.
