North Stars on-ice success translates into financial boost
It’s a rosier financial outlook for the Battlefords North Stars as they head into the upcoming 2016-17 season.
At the team’s annual general meeting, the financial report showed the North Stars took home $82,364.50 in net income for the 2015-16 SJHL season. This compared to a loss of roughly $8,000 for the 2014-15 season.
President of the North Stars Troy Slywka said it’s a boost for the team to be in a better financial place.
“We’re looking good going forward next year. So that’s always the key thing, is that if we can survive year to year. We’ve always been a year to year kind of team, this year we don’t have to worry about that so much,” Slywka said.
