Hawks win SJHL championship; Top 10 Sports Stories

The Nipawin Hawks winning their first SJHL championship in 28 years makes our Top 10 Sports Stories list from 2018.

The Hawks beat the Estevan Bruins 2-1 in Game 7 on April 24 to win their first league title since 1990.

Prince Albert’s Josh McDougall scored the game-winner with about 12 minutes remaining in the game. Hawks’ captain Carter Doersken scored his first goal of the playoffs to open the scoring.
