Early Bird special on now for NB trade show vendors

Vendors planning to participate in the annual trade show in North Battleford still have a few days if they want to take advantage of the Early Bird registration prices.

The 34th annual Agri-Mex 2019 Farm, Trade and Home Show will run April 4, 5 and 6 at the Exhibition Park.

Cinema construction on track for spring completion

The new four-screen cinema being built in downtown North Battleford is close to completion, with owners expecting it to open either at the end of March or in early April.

Tom Hutchinson, president of Magic Lantern Theatres, said the project is actually ahead of schedule.

Rooming house project to be ready by April

The Supported Rooming House project that was slated for development in North Battleford is getting closer to completion and should be ready in April.

Battlefords Indian and Métis Friendship Centre (BIMFC) is the lead on the project.

Aboriginal Friendship Centres of Saskatchewan representatives are currently travelling across the province to discuss opportunities available for Indigenous peoples, and to help more people obtain their Indian Status registration.

Friendship Centres to host forums, compile information for report to government

Friendship Centres in the region will hold community forums this week to raise awareness about the issue of gender discrimination and encourage people to apply for their Indian Status card.
