After a visit by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Scott Moe, La Loche Mayor Robert St. Pierre said he believes both levels of government truly care about moving the community forward.

A former resident of La Ronge is back in Canada after disappearing for nearly a week in Vietnam.  

“I can’t thank everyone enough for supporting me and my family and helping my son come back home,” Sandra Charles said about Tye Finley, who arrived Dec. 15 in Saskatoon.

octors agree residents of La Ronge are paying a high economic price for the heavy consumption of alcohol.

“The harms from alcohol is something most physicians see on a regular basis,” said Dr. James Irvine. “It’s been an ongoing concern for me over the years.”

A special council meeting has been called in La Ronge after a bylaw to control the sale, distribution and consumption of alcohol and cannabis initially failed to garner enough votes to proceed.

Hearing adjourned after judge finds 'grave concerns' in victim impact statement

The sentencing hearing for a young man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the murder of Simon Grant was unexpectedly adjourned this afternoon after alarming details were shared in a victim impact statement.
