Farm businesses share the literal and figurative landscape with this community and so many communities throughout the province. And in most cases, the farmers and employees have family roots in the local community.

Battlefords’ Agricultural Society is proud to bring all of these people together hosting events and educational programs for everyone.

Battlefords’ Agricultural Society is a non-political organization that strives to promote improvements in agriculture and the quality of life in communities affected by agriculture. They provide facilities and events for agricultural, educational and leisure activities – and rent facilities for dances, socials, horse races and more.

Facilities include:

• AgriVilla Building – 4,800 square foot
• AgriPlex Building – 14,400 square feet.
• Chuckwagon Track
• Barns and Livestock Show Rings
• Rentals including tables and chairs, curtains and table clothes, blackjack tables etc.
• Winter Storage

Facilities are available all year-round (taken from Battlefords Agricultural Society Facebook)

Battlefords Agricultural Society formed in 1884 as the Battle River Agricultural Society. A year later, the fair was cancelled due to the Riel Rebellion. The first fair was held October 12th, 1887. In 1937, Grey Owl officially opened the fair – and in 1951, Prime Minister St. Laurent did the same. Then, in 1956, the Battlefords Agricultural Society became the legal name.

Battlefords’ Agricultural Society is made up of a community all unto itself – many volunteers offering countless hours of planning and implementing to suit everyone who will benefit from their services.

And Battlefords Agricultural Society have also brought many tourism dollars into the community.

Farms are important to local communities. And bring the people that run those farms together is an important part of creating and maintaining community. That’s why Battlefords’ Agricultural Society has been helping people do just that since 1884.
